    First Seminar of the project "Come Back to Africa"

    The first seminar of the New Humanity project "Back to Africa" was coordinated by a group of students and young graduates, with the support of experts from the Movement Politics & Policies for Unity and the Sophia University Institute for higher education. The goal of the seminar was to develop a program and the education strategies of the entire project, going forward.

  • Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Price for Peace Education to Chiara Lubich

    2016 is also the 30th anniversary of New Humanity and the 8th anniversary of Mrs Chiara Lubich death

    The 19th of June 1986 it had been held in Rome the first meeting of all the members of the International Bureau of Economy and Work (which after some years assumed its current name of New Humanity NGO).
    The 17th of December 1996 Mrs Chiara Lubich - founder of the Focolari Movement and of New Humanity - received the UNESCO's Prize for Peace Education at the UNESCO's Headquarters.
    Finally, the 14th of March 2008 Mrs Chiara Lubich passed and since than, on that day, every year a world ceremony remembers a particular new element introduced by her charisma. 2016's celebrations are obviously focused on peace promotion.

  • Geneva: New Humanity and other Christian Organisations Reflect about Contemporary Europe

    Europe Idendity and ValuesNew Humanity and the other Catholic Inspired NGOs active in Geneva supported the Focolari Movement and the World Council of Churches on the organisation of this round table. The meeting has been the occasion to analyse the historical European experience and to identify and point out the better values and ideals to contribute to overcame the present crisis and to arrange the future of Europe. Concrete examples and ongoing projects has been presented as well, in order to inspire the European governance.
    Prof. Pasquale Ferrara has been one of the main speakers of this event. He is a diplomat, the former Secretary General at the European University Institute and professor at the LUISS University and at the Sophia University Institute.

  • Genoa: Administrators and citizens together, for the common good of their cities

    Che sarebbe lItalia senza le città 2"What would Italy be without its cities?" From 30th  November to 2nd  December citizens and representatives of local government examined and debated questions of the common good and of  citizenship.
    Among the organizers of the event were: Genoa city council, New Humanity's Italian network, the Movimento Politico per l'Unità (Political Movement for Unity) and the Association of Mayors,  "Città per la Fraternità" (Cities for  Fraternity).

    RefugiadosThe main goals of this Meeting were: to inform, to dialogue and to make new proposals in order to answer to the actual European Refugees crises. The event had been held the last 12th of December at the "Mariapolis Center Luminosa", Las Matas (Madrid) and it had been organised by New Humanity and other Spanish partner associations which are very interested in the areas of politics and active citizenship.

    During the event it intervened also Mrs Yolanda Feal San Martín- former delegate at the Red Cross International Committee.
    She has been interviwed by Mrs Esther Salamanca- representative of New Humanity in Geneva.

  • Munich: 300 Movements Together for Europe

    4th General Meeting of the "Together for Europe" Eucumenical Network

    Munich, 30 June - 2 July 2016

    Together for Europe 2016300 Movement and Communities, from various Churches in different European Countries gathered for this 4th General Meeting of the "Together for Europe" Network in Munich. The number of the members constantly grew during the previous events in Studtgard (2004 and 2007) and Brussels (2012) and the current edition gathered more than 1500 participants in order to discuss about Integration and Recounciliation, Solidarity, Sustainability and Environment Care, Dialogue between Christians and Muslims, Family and Marriages, Economy,...

    The Focolari Movement - sharing the same fundamental values of New Humanity - is on of the promoter of this initiative.

    Co-Governance:Mutual responsibility in cities today

    From 17 to 20 January 2019, New Humanity, in partnerships with other organizations and associations, organized a three-day gathering to exchange projects and to network a style of governance and coexistence that is both shared and interdependent.
    At the end of the meeting, the 400 participants signed the "Pact for a new Governance: networks of cities".

  • Paris: UNESCO commemorates the awarding of the Prize for Peace Education to Chiara Lubich

    UNESCOs Peace Price to Chiara LubichOn 17 December 1996 Chiara Lubich was in Paris to receive the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education.  Twenty years later, in collaboration with the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to UNESCO, New Humanity remembers the founder of the Focolare Movement (from whose spirituality New Humanity draws its inspiration) with a cultural manifestation under the patronage of the UNESCO (the United Nations' Agency for Education, Science and Culture) entitled: “Reinventing Peace: Education towards a Humanism Based the Unity of the Human Family”.

    Politics4UnityThe Political Movement for Unity (represented organisation of New Humanity) has organised "Politics for Unity". This event will take place from 12th to 15th March 2015 in order to remember Chiara Lubich on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of her departure. It will be an opportunity to analyse the contribution her charism could give to the politics fields.

    In New York, Strasbourg, London, Nairobi, Seoul, Rome,... and many other cities, Politics for Unity will discuss about challenges to the contemporary politics and  question how the ideal of fraternity could contribute to its own empowerment.

  • Rome: a conference entitled "Chiara Lubich. Light, Life and Culture"

    Convegno Chiara Lubich Carisma Storia Cultura-en Five years on from the death of Chiara Lubich, founder of the focolari Movement, over 600 participants, including university lecturers, scholars, researchers, doctoral students and undergraduates, from every part of the world, retraced the evolution of, and recent developments relating to  her spiritual doctrine. The conferencewas organized by New Humanity, Cittànuova and Sophia University Institute in the Aula Magna of "Sapienza" University in Rome (Italy) on 14th March 2013.

  • Rome: New Humanity Organised "OnCity, Networks of Light to Inhabit the World"

    OnCity 2016 en"OnCity" gathered 800 participants from all over the world in order to reflect about Dialogue, as a lifestyle and as an approach to face the contemporary challenges; active citizenship, as a resource for the cities; networking, as a tool to share good practices and more solidar and liveable cities.
    The laboratory has been organised by New Humanity, together with two Represented Organisations - New Humanity International Movement and AMU NGO - and the Focolari Movement.

  • The Focolare Movement launches the campaign "Europe, Time for Dialogue" in view of the 2019 European elections

    From 23 to 26 May, the EU citizens are called to elect the new the European Parliament.

    In such an important moment for the old continent, the Focolare Movement, of which New Humanity is an expression in international institutions, has launched the "Europe, time for dialogue" campaign to propose the reasons for unity and advance solidarity in the political debate in view of the future of Europe.
