Desalvo in Jordan 2The NGO Committee on Migration has published the report "Concrete Policies, Practices and Partnerships to Promote Implementation of the Global Compacts for Migrants and Refugees". The Host-Spot Project of New Humanity is mentioned among the best policies and practices in support of migrants and refugees in situations of vulnerability.
Eight other New Humanity projects have also been taken into consideration.

Desalvo in Jordan 2Freedom of expression, the free flow of information, and freedom and pluralism of the media have internationally been acknowledged as human rights. However, after the Arab Spring, in the MENA region, this fundamental human right has been frequently restricted. In addition, EU leaders are facing a European refugee crisis, where, first of all the citizens of the European Union must have a deep awareness of the real struggling refugees face, both prior and after the ‘landing’ to the EU soil and both in their countries and during their displacement.

HOST SPOT Project: The videos produced by the young people during the project

HOST SPOT VideoOne of the main objectives of the HOST SPOT project was to provide the young people who participated with competitive and know-how skills in the production of documentaries with a social content. They learned how to record personal experiences and stories of immigrants and the refugees’ daily life in the camps, and raise public awareness on a wider range of options in dealing with immigrants and refugees.

From 28 October to 2 November the third and final meeting of HOSTSPOT washeld in Alexandria of Egypt. It was promoted by various ONGs and Associations, among which the International Association New Humanity (Italy), Starkmacher EV (Germany), Caritas Jordan (Jordan), VACA (Palestine), Jesuit Cultural Center (Alexandria), Association bNET (Italy), Fundación Igino Giordani (Spain), Focolari Trust (Ireland), ÚjVárosAlapítvány (Hungary) and Non dalla Guerra (Italy).

HOST SPOT Project, Phase 2: Acquiring the communication tools

HOST SPOT Germany12 – 17 March 2017

Bad Urach, Germany

18 young people from 5 European and Middle Eastern countries met in Bad Urach, Germany, from 12 to 17 March, for the 2nd phase of the project Host Spot, promoted by New Humanity and Erasmus+, together with other associations, and co-financed by the Erasmus+ (EU) program.
Objective of the meeting: to develop in the young people some technical skills in the field of communication and production of documentaries with a social purpose.

HOST SPOT Project, Phase 1: Volunteering in Jordanian Refugee Camps

55 young people joined from various European and Middle Eastern countries for the first phase of the project "Host Spot", which took place at the refugee welcoming center in Madaba (Jordan), in Jerusalem and in the Palestinian territories.
