href=\"http:\/\/www.ngo-unesco.org\/english\/activities\/joint-programmatic-commissions-and\/jpc-dialog-between-cultures\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Joint Programmatic Commission on Intercultural Dialogue and Peace<\/strong><\/a> a conference entitled: <strong>&#8220;Why invest in intercultural dialogue in a course to obtain a music diploma in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>To be sure, an \u00abunexplored aspect of the intercultural dialogue\u00bb commented <strong>Mrs. Catherine Deremble<\/strong>, president of the hosting Commission.<br \/>Prof. Negr\u00e3o&#8217;s presentation <strong>focused specifically on her experience of intercultural dialogue <\/strong>in the academic sphere and the anthropological reflection arising therefrom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-1461\" style=\"margin: 5px 0px 5px 5px; float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/images_new_humanity_IMG-20120514-00026.jpg\" alt=\"IMG-20120514-00026\" height=\"151\" width=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/images_new_humanity_IMG-20120514-00026.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/images_new_humanity_IMG-20120514-00026-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/images_new_humanity_IMG-20120514-00026-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><strong>A talk which was wide-ranging and original<\/strong>, both in the scientific aspects described, and in the power of innovation deriving from the experience of this teacher with her pupils. <strong>What most struck the audience was indeed Dr. Negr\u00e3o&#8217;s method and how she aims to bring into dialogue, greatly-differing musical cultures<\/strong>, such as western classical music,\u00a0Gospel of the Evangelical Churches and popular musics from the Amazonian culture from which her pupils come.<\/p>\n<p>As professor Negr\u00e3o highlighted, \u00abputting together these different musics and cultures and giving each its place, in continuous interaction with the others, <strong>is an enormously enriching pedagogical path and a remarkable vehicle for peace<\/strong>.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>At the end of her talk, Dr. Negr\u00e3o received a special token of appreciation from President Deremble<\/strong> and some other NGO representatives participating in this event.<br \/>\u00abHer skills and the <strong><a href=\"index.php\/en\/about-us-presentation\/organization.html\">contribution of New Humanity<\/a><\/strong>, which she identified as the methodology for dialogue, will certainly be a point of reference for this Commission, and one on which both to reflect and act.\u00bb were the words used, at the end of the meeting, by M.me Chantal Grevin, main Representative of <strong>New
