{"id":3037,"date":"2017-06-15T19:57:54","date_gmt":"2017-06-15T17:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/events\/educating-towards-fraternity-a-collective-challenge\/"},"modified":"2019-12-27T17:57:21","modified_gmt":"2019-12-27T16:57:21","slug":"educating-towards-fraternity-a-collective-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/en\/news\/educating-towards-fraternity-a-collective-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Educating towards fraternity: a collective challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.new-humanity.org\/en\/events\/educating-towards-fraternity-a-collective-challenge\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/a>12 &#8211; 14 June, Rosario, Argentina<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h2><strong>First International Congress of Educators from the Southern Cone<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4><em>408 participants from Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina <\/em>and<em> Colombia, in the <strong>1st International Congress for Educators of the Southern Cone<\/strong>, held in Rosario (Argentina). <\/em>Main<em> theme was fraternity as a style for education within the wealth of shared educational practices.<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Besides the participants,<strong> about 500 educators<\/strong> took part at the live streaming during moments dedicated to the various topics of the meeting: \u201cLearning service,\u201d \u201cEducation for a fraternal economy,\u201d \u201cInter -generational dialogue\u201d, and \u201cEmpathy and Intercultural Workshop\u201d&nbsp; to name just a few. Present also Marie-Annick and Pierre Benoit, representatives of New Humanity at the UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A few personalities came to visit the <\/strong>congress<strong>:<\/strong> The first day started with the visit of the Governor of Santa Fe, Miguel Lifschitz, and authorities of other local institutions. The Archbishop of Rosario, Bishop Martin, gave a speech the second day.<\/p>\n<p>What came to light was not only the life of fraternity between the students and their teachers but also between directors and inspectors, proposing innovative institutional policies for the benefit of the entire educational community. The art-oriented schools that adhered to the project of fraternity gave their testimonials on how inter-culturation is lived through art, demonstrating new ways of being artists. The workshop on inclusion helped<strong> to clarify the concept of how \u201cthe other<\/strong>, with all his or her differences is a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The theme on education<\/strong> and formation outside the school environment, which is a life-learning process focusing on brotherhood as its methodology, indicated a pathway which consists in going out towards the peripheries with a program centered on values.
