A New Educational Vision for the Mediterranean

Mediterra.NEW Toolkit

The migratory challenges in the Mediterranean call for new educational approaches capable of valuing cultural diversity and promoting fraternity, social cohesion, and interreligious dialogue.

The M.E.D.I.T.erraNEW project, grounded in a shared educational vision and common values among the nine partner organizations, starts from a fundamental premise: young people—both migrants and locals—are not passive recipients, but co-creators of relationships, communities, and the future. Through non-formal education, youth aged 13 to 17 become builders of bridges, not walls.

At the heart of the project is a practical and multidisciplinary toolkit designed for educators working in multicultural contexts. It includes pedagogical modules, training materials, best practices, and tools for educational activities. It offers concrete resources to strengthen youth empowerment, encourage leadership, and foster active participation. It is a tangible contribution to building a Mediterranean educational ecosystem capable of overcoming barriers and promoting a sustainable and inclusive social environment.

The project demonstrates the effectiveness of an educational model based on integral ecology, a holistic pedagogical approach that weaves together the environmental, social, economic, and spiritual dimensions of human life, peer-to-peer learning, intercultural empathy, and the active involvement of communities.

By creating this shared training kit, the project lays the groundwork for a systemic transformation of education from a Mediterranean perspective, with a real impact on inclusion, cohesion, and global citizenship.
