With over 10 years of experience and a global network, MilONGa offers summer volunteering opportunities for young people

6.06.2025

This summer, instead of stepping away from the world, you can step into it. For those between 18 and 35, MilONGa offers the possibility of engaging directly with communities in different parts of the world, contributing to concrete social initiatives while participating in an intercultural learning journey.

When a world is marked by war and growing uncertainty, it’s easy to feel powerless and unsure of how to make a difference. But even in the face of global challenges, our everyday choices can carry meaning. Choosing how we spend our time and how we relate to others can become quiet acts of hope.

A program with deep roots and global reach

MilONGa was born in Latin America more than a decade ago, from the collaboration between New Humanity, Youth for a United World, and a network of social organizations inspired by the charism of unity. Since its beginning, it has aimed to respond to the desire of young people for meaningful experiences — not as isolated volunteers, but as protagonists in building a more fraternal world.

Over the years, the project has grown and expanded, involving organizations and communities across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, in synergy with local NGOs and New Humanity’s international network.

What makes MilONGa unique

MilONGa accompanies volunteers at every stage of their journey: offering guidance before departure, support during the experience, and reflection afterward. This personalized mentoring is designed to enhance both the impact on local communities and the growth of each volunteer.

The program also includes moments of training, exchange with local organizations, and the possibility to live within or near host communities. These opportunities foster a deeper understanding of the local context and a more authentic intercultural experience.

Volunteering through MilONGa means becoming part of a global network of young people and organizations committed to fraternity in action. Creating relationships that recognize the dignity of every person and seek paths of shared development.
