The main activities carried out by New Humanity NGO in New York are the following:

January

  • Participation in the annual retreat of the Multifaith Advisory Council (MFAC), January 29, 2025.
  • Fabiola Marotti continued as part of the New Humanity New York team and in her role supporting UN MFAC Youth Engagement.

April

  • Angelica Kerr, Co-Chair of the MFAC Climate & Nature Working Group, participated in the ECOSOC Special Meeting on Forced Displacement and Refugee Protection (April 24, 2025).
  • Participation in the UNAOC Roundtable on Extremism and Radical Ideologies: A Multistakeholder Approach (April 29, 2025).
  • Preparation of the ECOSOC quadrennial report for international NGOs.

May

    Participation in the Sustaining Peace Event on May 24 in Washington, D.C.

  • Participation in the Informal Interactive Dialogue on “The Pact for the Future – Monitoring and Evaluation” (May 19, 2025), held at the Trusteeship Council Chamber. The dialogue focused on national-level monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for implementation of the Pact for the Future.
  • ECOSOC Special Meeting on Artificial Intelligence, May 6, 2025. Angelica Kerr attended on behalf of New Humanity.
  • Participation and support to the Holy See Mission’s Gala, PATH to PEACE, which awarded Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
  • Screening of Chiara Lubich’s movie at the Holy See Mission.

July

  • John Mundell at the Kofi Annan Briefing with UNDP representative

    Maddalena Maltese, Angelica Kerr and Rick O’Sullivan attended the Kofi Annan Briefing on July 15, 2025, featuring John Mundell as speaker.

  • Meeting with one of the candidates for the position of UN Secretary General.

September

  • New Humanity endorsed the Joint Appeal for Nuclear Abolition Day, September 26. The appeal gathered more than 560 organizations and 1,100 individuals from 98 countries across all regions of the world.
  • Letter on migration situation

    Letter submitted to the US Bishops Conference on the topic of migration (September 2025).

  • Participation in Climate Week events (September 23–24): Faith House Contemplation, Dialogue & Action with Gopal Patel, and the session “No Throwaway People: Racism & the Climate Crisis” with Sustaining All Life.
  • Rick O’Sullivan was approved to represent New Humanity on the NGO Committee on Financing for Development, on which he has served as a private sector participant since 2017.

October

  • Angelica Kerr participated in the Raising Hope Conference at Castel Gandolfo (October 1–3, 2025), organized in preparation for COP30 in Belém, Brazil. The conference brought together faith leaders, climate advocates, and dedicated workers from different movements and organizations to reflect on care for our common home. As Co-Chair of the MFAC Climate & Nature Working Group, Angelica participated in workshops including the Global Ethical Stocktake.
  • Promotion and coordination of the “Together for a New Africa” project, including a roundtable with partners in Kenya.
  • Rick O’Sullivan participated in the Fall Civil Society Policy Forum during the semi-annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, Washington, DC, October 13-17

Other Activities

  • With John Mundell and Arch. Caccia at the Holy See Mission

    Continued preparation for the Dare to Care project (II edition).

  • Participated in drafting CSO stakeholder contribution to the 2026 Financing for Sustainable Development Report of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Financing for Developmen Submitted to the UN Office for Sustainable Development, November 2025
  • Participated in drafting and sponsoring three side-events during major UN meetings
